Come and Try Sessions
We have courts set aside for newbies, and experienced players will show you how to play and how to score.
Feel comfortable playing with other newbies.
You are guaranteed lots of laughs and you will be surprised at how quickly you learn this game. Bring your best court shoes, no shoes = no play.
How to Start
Download the opensports app onto your device.
- Tap the top left icon (group of people) on the main discovery page.
- Tap “Find Groups”.
- It will show you a listing of public groups that are nearby.
- From here, scroll through local groups, and/or search for Sunshine Coast Pickleball by tapping on the search icon and typing in Sunshine Coast Pickleball.
- Once found, tap on it and click the Join button.
Book into a session, pay using the app and sign the electronic waiver.
Newbies look for the beginners symbol, all skill levels symbol or newbies accepted within the session text.
Good venues to start at if you are a newcomer- Caloundra Sunday Morning, Buderim Friday afternoons, Currimundi Monday night, Meridan Friday mornings, Maleny Monday night, Mountain Creek: some Saturday mornings see the OpenSports app for details.
Remember we do not accept cash, walk-ins, players who have not signed the waiver. No multi bookings where one player pays for a single spot but two or more persons turn up and want to share court time.
Finally wear court style shoes, the incorrect soled shoes or no shoes = no play.
